Auckland Early Childhood Education Field Trip

Recently, I had the privilege of traveling to Auckland, New Zealand, to examine the development of early childhood education in the region. This visit provided me with a deeper understanding of the philosophies and practices in early childhood education, particularly in nurturing children’s creativity and autonomy in learning.

The early childhood education institutions in Auckland emphasize play-based learning, utilizing diverse activities to stimulate children’s interests and potential. This approach not only enhances children’s social skills but also strengthens their emotional development. Observing children learning through free exploration was truly inspiring.

I will bring these valuable experiences back to Hong Kong, specifically to Cheung Chau, with the hope of integrating these excellent teaching philosophies to further improve the quality of our early childhood education. In the future, we will continue to explore how to implement child-centered educational models within our local context, creating a better learning environment for our children.

I would like to express my gratitude to the educators in Auckland and look forward to more opportunities for exchange and collaboration in the future!
