Extracurricular Activities: Basketball Class
- Categories Multiple Intelligence Activities
- Date 1 September, 2025
Basketball classes offer a dynamic and engaging way for kindergarteners to develop fundamental physical and social skills. The sport builds crucial gross motor skills like running, jumping, throwing, and catching, significantly improving coordination and overall athleticism. It also fosters cardiovascular health and builds strength, establishing healthy habits from a young age. Learning to dribble, pass, and shoot introduces spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination in a playful and challenging setting.
Beyond the physical benefits, basketball cultivates essential social skills. Children learn to work collaboratively as a team, share the ball, and communicate effectively to achieve a common goal. The experience of overcoming challenges together fosters camaraderie, boosts confidence, and instills a positive attitude towards teamwork and physical activity, setting the stage for a lifetime of healthy habits and social-emotional growth.
In addition to regular classes, our school also hosted a King of Ball Bouncing Competition for our K3 students to increase their interest in basketball. Kids earning the title in their classes are all very excited!
A special thank you to Principal Kwok, our basketball coach, and all the parents who came out to support the children.
